Elizabeth Duckett, Director of Children and Youth

Liz joined Westminster Presbyterian Church as Director of Children and Youth Ministries in November 2024. In this role, she provides leadership for ministries serving children, youth, and their families, including the nursery, acolytes, youth Sunday School, junior and senior high youth groups, confirmation, mission trips, the Stronghold Retreat, and Vacation Bible School.

Liz attended Rock Valley College and brings a passion for helping young people grow in their faith while building meaningful relationships within the church community. Through creative programming, service opportunities, and discipleship experiences, she works to help children and youth discover God’s love and their place within the life of the church.

Outside of ministry, Liz enjoys scrapbooking, crafting, watching movies and streaming series, traveling, and sightseeing. She shares life with three dogs—Lance, Ranger, and Mya—and two cats, Max and Benny.

A few fun facts: Christmas is her favorite holiday, steak and potatoes is her favorite Midwestern comfort meal, and two of her favorite Westminster traditions are the Christmas decorating celebration and the annual Chili Cook-Off. What she loves most about Westminster is its beautiful building and the warm, welcoming spirit of its congregation.
