By submitting this application, I give permission for the scholarship committee to publish portions of my faith statement and my photograph in future church bulletins and/or at church services. I also pledge to use any scholarship monies awarded for tuition, books, or other expenses associated with my college education and further pledge that if circumstances changes and I don’t attend college during the next school year, I will return any scholarship monies awarded to the church.

Note that applications will be evaluated on church/para church activities, community involvement, faith statement and overall quality of application.

Checklist 2 Application Due Date*

Applications must be received by the due date above. We cannot accept late applications. If this is not your first year applying, please make sure that your application and faith statement is updated with CURRENT information.

Checklist 7 Proofreading*

Please refrain from using AI-generated content when completing your application, as we are looking for authentic responses about your life and your faith. Did you proofread your application for spelling and grammar? Points may be deducted for errors.

Checklist 3 Letter of Reference*

If this is your first time applying, you must submit a letter of reference. The letter of reference must come from outside of Westminster staff and cannot be a family member.

Checklist 4 Westminster at Work*

You agree to do a 2-3 minute “Westminster @ Work” explaining the impact of your scholarship at least once during your college career, either in person or via a video option which can be uploaded and shown to the congregation during a service. Expect to be contacted by a member of the committee at some point asking if you could do this.

Checklist 5 Thank You to Families*

If you are awarded a Memorial scholarship, please make sure you send a thank you to the family for whom the monies were given in memory of. We cannot stress enough how much this means to the families who are generous enough to create a memorial in their loved one’s memory. Part of your responsibility in accepting a scholarship is thanking the family in whose name it was given.

A thank you note to the congregation for their generosity would also be appreciated.

You will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your application submission. If you do not receive a confirmation, please assume that your application did not go through and contact us for help.
