For Westminster Youth

For over 25 years, the Westminster Scholarship program has been supporting the youth of our congregation by way of financial aid scholarships to help pay for college expenses.

If you are interested in applying, please submit an application using the form below (or print and submit to the church office). Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  1. Church/para church activities
  2. Community involvement
  3. Faith statement
  4. Overall quality of application
  • Student must be a graduating high school senior or a college student.
  • All applications are due May 15th, 2019.  No exceptions will be granted.
  • Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Applications must be received by May 15th.
  • Did you submit a photo?
  • Did you submit a letter of reference (first-time applicants only)?
  • Expect to do a “Westminster at Work” (short announcement) at least once during your college career OR we have now added a video option. If you would prefer do a 1-2 minute video thanking the congregation for past scholarships, please send a video to:
  • A thank you note to the family providing the scholarship is required and a second thank you to the congregation for their generosity is also appreciated.

Personal Data

List the church activities you have been involved in while in high school or while attending college.
List the community-oriented activities, organizations, clubs and volunteer efforts you have been involved in.
List any honors or awards you have received during your high school or college years.
List any relevant work experience you wish to share with the committee.
Write a short essay (2-3 paragraphs) on how your faith has grown in the past year and how you plan to continue growing your faith in the next year.
First-time applicants must attach a letter of reference by someone OTHER than a family member.

By submitting this application, I give permission for the scholarship committee to publish portions of my faith statement and my photograph in future church bulletins and/or at church services. I also pledge to use any scholarship monies awarded for tuition, books, or other expenses associated with my college education and further pledge that if circumstances change and I don't attend college during the next school year, I will return any scholarship monies awarded to the church.
